36. Glioblastoma

Description:

There is a large, butterfly-shaped lesion that spans the two hemispheres and the corpus callosum. The lesion has areas of cystic degeneration, which is visible as small “holes”. It also has areas of necrosis, which are yellowish. A haemorrhage related to the tumor is present as well.

Diagnosis: Glioblastoma

Risk factors:

  • None in particular

Theory:

DLBCL may produce a similar butterfly-looking lesion.
