Description:
There is a brownish, well-demarcated tumor that has many greyish foci. These foci may be psammoma bodies or necrosis.
There is blank ink on the edges of the slices. This ink is used to show the resection margin.

Theory:
In addition to thyroid carcinoma, psammoma bodies are often seen in ovarian carcinoma and meningioma.
