Staining: HE
Organ: Unknown
Description:
The whole slide is just tumor, except in the upper right corner where there is some fat tissue, which is infiltrated by the tumor, indicating that it isn’t benign. There is coagulative necrosis, severe atypia and many mitotic figures.
The tumor cells are spindle shaped with “cigar”-shaped nuclei.
Diagnosis: Leimyosarcoma
Causes:
- Nothing special
Theory:
The presence of coagulative necrosis, severe atypia and many mitotic figures indicates that this is a malignant tumor and not a benign one.
