Hammer toe

• Toe deformity with PIP flexion + DIP extension + neutral MTP
• Most commonly affects 2nd and the other lesser toes
• Etiology
  • Poorly fitting shoes
  • Polyneuropathy
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Trauma
• Treatment: remove head of proximal phalanx
