  • Acetabular protrusion refers to when the acetabular socket is so deep that the femoral head may protrude into the pelvis
  • This is a prearthritic condition
  • Epidemiology
    • In adolescents and in elderly
    • Women > men
  • Clinical features
    • Hip pain
    • Limited ROM
  • Diagnosis: x-ray
  • Treatment
    • Arthroscopic or open joint surgery
    • Total hip replacement
