Description:

There are many small, roundish foci. Some are yellowish (necrotic), some are blackish (haemorrhagic or pigment) while some are just grey.

Diagnosis: Multiple brain metastases

Causes:

  • Metastasis from:
    • Breast tumor
    • Lung tumor
    • Melanoma
    • Kidney tumor
    • Colorectal tumor

Theory:

The blackish foci are most likely haemorrhages, but they can also be melanin pigment if the metastasis came from a melanoma.
