Description:

The whole slide is just tumor. There is a myxoid background stroma. The tumor has an extensive capillary network like chicken wire.

A special cell type, the lipoblast, is visible. This cell has vacuolated cytoplasm and a central, irregular nucleus. The remaining cells of the tumor are round cells.

Diagnosis: Myxoid liposarcoma

Causes:

  • t(12;16)

Theory:

Nothing special.

Overview
Tumour cells above the large artery. The stroma is myxoid. Extensive capillary network is visible.
The lipoblasts kinda look like popcorn.
